Sinusitis, rhinitis, a stuffed nose – call it what you will, you do not want congestion issues. When you’re dealing with sinus congestion your nose can be so stuffed that you’ve got a headache. Your sinuses go all the way up into your face, so it’s no wonder that your whole head hurts.
Whether you’re completely stuffed up, or your nose is running – or it goes back-and-forth from one hour to the next – here’s your solution: Sinus Bombs. These little DIY nasal-congestion relievers are easy to make at home and work wonders.

Your Nose Knows

Essential oils are, well- essential for sinus relief. In this case, lavender essential oils fight inflammation and kill bacteria and germs, and tea tree essential oils have antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and antiseptic properties, as well as throat soothing goodness.
These ingredients help to fight the inflammation in your mucus airways as well. The anti-inflammatory properties of the EOs ease the smooth muscles of the throat and the swollen nasal passageways.

Natural Sinus Bombs

Ingredients

  • 1 lb of Baking Soda
  • 10 drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 20 Drops Tea Tree Essential Oil
  • Spray bottle filled with Water

Instructions

  1. Pour the baking soda into a bowl and spray with water. Use just enough water to make the baking soda start sticking together.
  2. Now, mix it up. It should feel like wet sand. If it’s not wet enough, spray until sufficiently wet. the baking soda should stick together easily but not feel soaked – just damp.
  3. Add your essential oils and mix.
  4. Put into molds. Silicon molds work best as the Sinus Bombs come out more easily. Choose a small sized mold, as these mini Sinus Bombs are meant to be used in the sink.
  5. Leave in the molds overnight. Pop them out the next morning and store in airtight containers to keep out moisture.

To Use:

  1. Fill your bathroom sink with very hot water.
  2. Pop one Sinus Bomb into the water.
  3. Place a towel over the back of your head to create a barrier for the steam from the sink.
  4. Put your head down to (but not in) the water, with the towel around the back. Inhale the steam and feel the relief.
Do this as often as needed.

Sayonara Sinus Issues

The bombs can also work in the shower. You may need to make them bigger, and you may not have the time for 3-4 Sinus Bomb Showers a day, so I’m thinking the sink-sized bombs are the way to go.
So remember this super simple sink-sized sinus-congestion relieving Natural Sinus Bomb recipe next time you get stuffed up. Winter is coming.
